Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a practical & holistic approach that helps people improve their quality-of-life by understanding and addressing behaviours of concern. It focuses on creating supportive environments and teaching new skills.
PBS works by identifying the function of certain behaviours (i.e., what are we trying to communicate?) and then developing strategies to reduce those triggers while promoting positive alternatives. The goal is to feel our emotions, express ourselves, but to do so in a way that gets us where we want to be.
